Anyways, the fic begins with Bella and Carlisle. It's back around 1915...? I believe and she was a vampire. Carlisle still ended up changing Edward and everything. I don't know how to describe it completely, I know Carlisle went off somewhere in the beginning and Edward goes and introduces himself to Bella and then runs off because he has to join his parents for dinner.

Any thoughts? Help...? lol

What can you not live without?
I find that addiction is one of the prime downfalls of man - it reveals the idiocies that would not come out otherwise. I speak of alcohol and drugs, mostly, but there are other things too that can make our society look pathetically dependent as we all know. In Las Vegas, the size of the city and also the quick schedule pretty much requires a car - and if you don't have a car, then you either take the bus or you walk, both of which can prove very dangerous in a place where someone won't hesitate to pick you up or pull out a gun. Europe's a little more diverse in their way of travel - they have the train and the tube, which are tremendously useful but probably expensive after a while (though with the price of gas these days, I suppose it can't be that bad). 
Thoreau would be the one to know of materialistic corruption - after all, he did go out to live in the wilderness away from people and things to see what the experience would be like. I do think it's very sad that some people base their lives around objects, and in that way can detect only a surface meaning.
