ATTENTION: READ THESE GREAT FICS AND YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED!

Art

4/27/08 The Boys Will Kill Me Next Generation -- really enjoyable and a great insight into these new characters. A bit cracky, but too funny to pass up. Can I just say that Hugo is too much of a badass!

4/27/08 The Girls Aren't To Be Beaten This is a sequel to the art above -- maybe not as satisfying, but still very hilarious. Worth taking a look at and dropping the wonderful artist a comment. Seriously, this artist is the best thing the AS/S ship has going for it at the moment. :D

Fic

4/26/08 On One's Knees (Draco/Harry) Can I just say that it's really hard for me to describe why I like fics so much, so forgive me if I can't completely sell you on how wonderful this fic truly is. The first thing that got me was Draco's harsh and accepting, realistic POV. It has such a heartbreaking undertone, but it really shows how much of a fighter Draco can be. It was very original -- everything to Draco's bad knees, to his janitor work at the Daily Prophet. Harry's character is just haunting, and I love how the author examined their relationship as it grew -- and the amazing perpsective made it all that much better. I was severely disappointed in the lack of actual sex scenes, and I don't think it deserves a NC-17 rating. More like R, but it really doesn't take away from the overall impact of the fic.
AMAZING.

4/28/08 The Arc of the Pendulum (Draco/Harry) What drew me to this fic was how Draco rejected his family -- something that should have been OOC, but the author had enough skill to really sell it adequately. I forgot about the Beauty and the Beast warning until the end -- in which Harry uses some lines that, again, should have ruined the fic but it so much more better. I just finished reading this fic, and the feeling it created is still lingering within me. God, Draco/Harry can be so good when written well, don't you agree? I really enjoyed the way the author wrote Lucius -- though, Draco lacked a bit of the snark I'm used to seeing. Doesn't matter -- READ IT!

4/25/08 The Ghost of Dursley Hall (Snape/Harry) I think the beginning of this fic is flawless, but unfortunately it loses quality the further you read. Snape's character is very intriguing, and even though it took me a long time to get over the fact that Harry is only like, 14 when they first kiss -- I wasn't able to stop reading until I finished it. You can tell that the plot was forgotten so that Snape and Harry could have a happy ending, but I still think this fic is worth reccing. :D

4/25/08 -- 4/27/08 The (Un)Professional (Harry/Snape) This fic is a whopper, coming in at 42,000 words. I must admit that the first part of the fic was hard to get through, seeing as I'm such a sucker for romance, and it's pretty much the whole reason why I read fics. So all the adventure and dangers didn't really appeal to me until Harry's lost lover (Snape) shows up. I know Snarry is not everyone's cup of tea, but you can't ignore the great quality of writing that comes out of fests such as the Snarry Games. There are so many great details in this fic -- the flawless humour and comfort between Harry and Snape. You truly believe that these two men have a deeper connection, something that is really hard to sell at times, especially when writing a pairing so strange -- like Snarry. Harry is this assassin, and it's so funny, with all the guns and Muggle/Wizard warfare. It's just great -- take two days out of your life and read it. You won't be disappointed!

I've decided to do old recs now, because I feel like I must remind all my Snupin fan friends that there are some really great fics out there.

Old Recs

2006 Night-Blind (Lupin/Snape) I read this fic at a time that I couldn't truly express how much I loved it. It starts when Lupin is captured by Death Eaters and is put into the "care" of Snape. Yeah, I know, sounds like a very cliche situation that can easily turn into lame plotless porn. Though, there is sex -- very, very hot sex, the plot doesn't suffer because of it. I think it was Snape's character -- his insecurities and self-hatred that really sold this fic to me. Each time Snape makes love to Lupin, all angry and almost raping the man, it just kills me, because I can only imagine the struggle going on within Snape. I think that's what I love about Snupin so much -- that struggle between accepting your feelings and keeping a straight mind about the harsh world around you.

It really breaks my heart, especially the photos on the wall. Great details -- take a look and maybe drop the artist a comment?

4/20/08 Twilight Art I Actually Like! (Twilight -- Bella/Edward) and Second Art (Twilight--Edward) She's on my flist, but that's not why I like it so much. All her artwork has stark emotion, if that makes any sense. I rarely see really good Twilight art, so I hope she does more. :D

Fic

4/20/08 Escaping the Paradox (Harry/Snape) A bit cracky, a bit long, but still surprisingly enjoyable. There are a few places where I think Harry was OOC, and maybe Snape, but that's okay because of the plotline.

4/21/08 No Better Friend, No Worse Enemy (Draco/Harry) A quick read and satisfying, though I felt Drarry's relationship came from nowhere. A bit cliche when you read the alcohol-enduce scene. I do think the author deserves more reviews, though. :]

4/21/08 The Comprehension Series (Albus Severus/Scorpius) The writing is not the best, but I feel myself ignoring the flaws because I'm so drawn to the characters. Albus and Scorpius just need to snog each other very, very soon.
